so maybe now i understand why winning a world series doesn’t get the cover of sports illustrated — winning the world series just isn’t rare enough! back in 2005 when the sox won, there had been more than 100 world series champions since 1900. BUT, until last thursday, there had been only 15 perfect games thrown since 1900. buehrle threw the 16th (since 1900, the modern era) and now he’s on the cover of sports illustrated!

buehrle pitched a perfect game yesterday!! WAHOO!!! i was fortunate to be able to listen to the end of the game on the radio!

and lost in all of this is that the SOX are now tied for FIRST PLACE! GO SOX!!!
