harry potter and the half-blood prince is done and will be released on july 16, 2005…that gives me yet another reason to hurry up and finish the order of the phoenix! (link)
a friend at work let me borrow ratchet and clank for the ps2 last week. man, that’s a fun game! it’s so fun in fact, that i beat it this weekend…and i rarely play games long enough to beat them. i played about 20 hours worth of it over the past week. now that i’m through the first one, there are two sequels that i can play once i find them cheap enough to buy.
the batman begins poster is out now…if it doesn’t make you want to see the movie, i don’t know what will! okay, so if that doesn’t convince you, there’s a trailer out too here…man, i can’t wait! :) (i’m not so sure about the whole tibetan monk training scenes though…) also, carrie bought me the poster as an early birthday present…yeah!

this is the first of several updates today…i’m getting a new camera! the canon s1 is…it’s one of several ultra-zoom cameras that are out now. i was debating between the canon s1 is and the panasonic dmc-fz3…they both look like pretty good cameras from all of the reviews, but the two sore points were the fz3’s picture quality and the s1 is’s low light focusing (it doesn’t have an af-assist lamp like most cameras). both cameras are only 3mp cameras, which initially shocked me, but thinking about it, the big reason for higher resolutions is to crop the photos, which with the zoom, i shouldn’t have to do much, which many reviewers backed up with their feedback on the camera. i decided that picture quality and the canon interface that i already like were more important, so i went with the canon.
i’m getting it for christmas, so i’ll tell you how i like it after then. also, carrie will now have a digital camera, so maybe we’ll have more pictures of michigan up here now! :)
some reviews for the canon s1 is are here and here
