the white sox won the world series, in a sweep no less! for the first time since 1917, the white sox can call themselves champs! they were first in the division all season long and went 11-1 in the playoffs…they didn’t leave any doubt about them being champs! they’re the second team to go 11-1 in the playoffs since three divisions were created.

sox world series champs!

GO WHITE SOX!!!

WOO HOO!!!

the white sox won the american league championship tonight with a 6-3 win over the angels! they won the series 4-1 with another complete game from another starter, this time jose contreras! so buehrle, garland, garcia, and contreras each had a complete game in the series and the relievers only pitched 2/3 of an inning in the entire series (in game 1). crede was the hero tonight (besides contreras), driving in three runs! that’s our crede! …and paulie got the alcs mvp award!

american league champions!

they will play either the cardinals or the astros in the world series starting saturday!

GO WHITE SOX!!!

sports sports everywhere!

the illini (and all of ncaa basketball) kicks off the season tonight with midnight madness…the first official time that they can practice as a team!

the white sox are in anaheim tonight for game 3 of the alcs. the series is all tied up at 1-1 after the white sox won game two in a very strange ninth inning. a.j. pierzynski swung at a pitch for strike three, but the ump didn’t call him out. in a very smart move, a.j. took off for first and was called safe! pablo ozuna came in to pinch run, stole second, and was then driven home by a clutch double from joe crede! there’s quite a bit of controversy about whether the third strike hit the dirt or not (which is why it is legal to run to first after a third strike) and whether the umpire’s hand gesture suggested he was out or not, but in the end it all worked out in the white sox’s favor.

i’d have preferred no controversy about a sox win, but i’ll take it! :)

hopefully tonight’s game will end without any argument and in a sox victory! GO WHITE SOX!!!

the white sox swept the red sox today to win their first postseason series since 1917! WOO HOO!

orlando hernandez saved the day…he came in with the bases loaded in the sixth with no outs and allowed zero (yes, ZERO) runs! it was amazing!

they’ll play in the alcs on tuesday against either the yankees or angels.

GO WHITE SOX!!!

the white sox play the red sox tomorrow…GO WHITE SOX!!!
